I have three new book reviews on the site which would all make great gifts for a crafter. Martha Stewart's Encyclopedia of Sewing and Fabric Crafts, The Bag Making Bible by Lisa Lam, and Nancy's Favorite 101 Notions by Nancy Zieman.
The lovely people over at Charles and David have also given Backstitch customers an additional discount on these books in their shop, making it possible for you to purchase these books at better than half price with free P&P... can't say fairer than that! The links and discount codes are at the bottom of each review in our articles section.
And, how would you like to win a copy of The Bag Making Bible and Nancy's Favorite 101 Notions?

ReplyDeleteGill
My favourites would have to be hurricane or rum punch. I've RT'd @sewquine
ReplyDeleteSundowner looks like a great bundle to make some bags with! The hurricane bundle would be very useful too - a little plain goes a long way in mini quilts and the choice of colours would be good to have on hand.

What a wonderful giveaway!
ReplyDeleteI think it would have to be the Blue Train Bundle for me. I've been pondering over making my first quilt for a while, and those are just my colours :)
Hurricane because it would help with a big project I have planned for 2011 or Hot Apple Pie as I'm having a thing about cool greens at the moment and would love to make a bag in this colourway
ReplyDeleteOoh Brown Cow bundle please! So unusual looking. (And a good name...)
ReplyDeleteMint Julep looks very tasty! As for what to make, hmm, something for my mum - a cute little bag maybe.
ReplyDeleteI have to admit that I would like the Bag Making Bible and I would make a present for my wife from it as she has made a few bags and is always looking for ideas for more.
ReplyDeleteOoh the woo woo bundle would make some great things for my little boys bedroom he's 15 months so I'd make some cushions and save some to make a car roll and a crayon roll for when he's a little older!
ReplyDeleteBlue Train bundle...... would love it under my tree!
ReplyDeleteI love the Rum Punch bundle, just gorgeous, though it was difficult to choose. Thanks for the great giveaway.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely the Golden Dawn bundle - for a bag and a headband (with a little left over to add to a corsage)!
ReplyDeleteSuch a hard descision, choosing just one my favourite is the "Whiskey Sour Bundle"... I would make lovely bunting and matching pillows..
ReplyDeleteClaire @ Madefor3
I am totally loving the pink lemonade bundle. If this appeared under my Christmas tree, I would make lovely note wallets, money purses, spec holders, ipod holder and lavender pillows with these inspiring, colourful fabrics! Merry Christmas!
ReplyDeleteThey are all too delicious for words! Think I'd go for the woo woo bundle.
ReplyDeletethanks for the chance to win.
I think that I'd go for the Pink Lemonade Bundle - I bought a sewing machine a few months ago and we are still getting to know each other, so I'd probably make a cover for it - hopefully appeasing the sewing machine gods, and also stopping my cat from playing with it!
